SystemLex Ltd ("we," "us," or "our") built the QR code & Barcode Scanner PRO app as a Commercial application. This SERVICE is provided by us and is intended for use "as is".

This page informs visitors and users regarding our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information.

By using our app, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. Our core privacy principle is simple: We do not collect, store, share, or sell your personal data.

1. Information Collection and Use

We built this app with a "Privacy First" and "Offline First" architecture.

  • Zero Data Collection: We do not collect personally identifiable information (PII).

  • No Accounts Required: You do not need to create an account or log in to use this app.

  • No Analytics or Ad Trackers: Because this is a premium, paid application, it does not contain any third-party advertising networks, tracking pixels, or behavioral analytics SDKs.


2. Device Permissions and Why We Need Them

To provide the core functionality of the app, we request specific Android device permissions. Here is exactly how they are used:

  • Camera & Flashlight (android.permission.CAMERA, FLASHLIGHT): This permission is strictly required to activate your device's camera viewfinder so the Google ML Kit vision engine can detect and decode QR codes and barcodes. We do not capture, record, save, or upload any photos or videos. All image processing happens locally on your device.

  • Internet Access (android.permission.INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): The app uses internet access exclusively for two purposes:

    1. SafeScan Feature: When you scan a URL, the app briefly pings the destination to unmask shortened links and verify security. Your scanning history is not sent to our servers.

    2. Google Play Services: To facilitate official in-app updates and verify your premium purchase.

  • Vibration (android.permission.VIBRATE): Used solely to provide local haptic feedback (a physical buzz) when a code is successfully scanned.


3. Local Storage and Data Retention

  • Scan History: Any QR codes or barcodes you scan or generate are saved to an encrypted local database (Room Database) directly on your device.

  • Your Control: This history never leaves your phone. You can clear or delete your scan history at any time from within the app's settings. If you uninstall the app, this local data is automatically deleted.


4. Third-Party Service Providers

The app utilizes secure, industry-standard third-party libraries strictly to provide functionality, not to harvest data. These include:

  • Google ML Kit: Used for on-device, offline barcode decoding.

  • Google Play Core: Used for delivering legitimate application updates.


5. Children’s Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.


6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted.
